Indonesia is the largest consumer market in ASEAN by population, and Thailand’s own trade department stages its Thailand Week showcase there, putting Thai food, drink and personal-care lines in front of Indonesian buyers. Most groceries still sell through traditional shops and neighbourhood retailers, supplied by importer-distributors who buy broad and sell wide. Indonesian rules reinforce that structure: a foreign seller must work through a registered local distributor or agent, so the import trade is built around exactly the buyer we serve.
That makes the fit straightforward. What we ship there
We source across the full Thai consumer-goods range, from beverages and food to non-food categories and the brands within them, and consolidate a mixed order into a single container: up to a hundred-plus SKUs in one load where the assortment calls for it. Everything is checked against your spec sheet at our own Bangkok warehouse before consolidation, and where a manufacturer holds product certificates (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, Halal) we pass those through on request. One practical note for Indonesia: each processed-food line must be registered with BPOM by your company before sale, so distributors tend to build a Thai range a few proven lines at a time. A mixed container suits that rhythm, restocking registered sellers while you prepare the next registrations, and a modest trial mixed order is a realistic way to start. Brand availability is confirmed per order.
Getting it there
We consolidate and load at our own Bangkok warehouse and ship out through Laem Chabang. Direct services make the run to Tanjung Priok, Jakarta’s container port, in about a week port to port on forwarder-published schedules; sailings routed via Singapore take longer, and Surabaya is served for eastern Java with a longer indicative range. As everywhere we ship, those figures are indicative, and the exact lane, schedule and terms are confirmed per shipment. We quote under the Incoterm you prefer (EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP) to the port you specify.
Documents and duty
Every consolidated order ships with the full export document set: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading, and the factory certificates noted above where they exist. On duty, Thailand and Indonesia are both ASEAN members, so Thai-origin goods may qualify for ATIGA preferential rates with a valid Form D certificate of origin, subject to the HS code and rules of origin; the Form D moves electronically through the ASEAN Single Window and we prepare it from the export side where the goods qualify. On the import side, Indonesia asks more of the importer than most markets, and those registrations are yours rather than ours: each processed-food product needs a BPOM registration held by your company before it goes on sale, shipments clear against your import licences under a regime that is detailed and changes frequently, and retail packs need Bahasa Indonesia labelling naming your company as the importer. Indonesia is also phasing in mandatory halal certification for imported food and drink from October 2026 under its halal assurance law. Thailand’s halal certifier is recognised by Indonesia’s halal authority under a mutual-recognition agreement, though each certificate must still be registered in Indonesia before distribution. What we do is feed those processes from the export side: the manufacturer’s letter of authorisation, free sale certificate, factory certificates, product specifications and label artwork your filings call for. On payment, letters of credit are widely used in Indonesia and we also quote for bank-transfer terms.
